A touring magician joins one of his audience members in her hotel room after his last show at the hotel bar/stage. After she drugs him, and he awakens, she and two other women explain how they came to find him, and why.

"The Sleight" is a dark, sardonic take on the nature of religion, power, and the stories we tell, as well as the lengths we will go to get what we want. When Ron, a for-hire magician, finishes a small, sad performance in a hotel bar, he leaves to return home. He is stopped by a woman, Katherine, who enjoyed the show and wishes him to return with her to her hotel room

Once there, he is drugged and handcuffed. When he regains consciousness, he is confronted by several other women who want him to join them in returning to their home hundreds of miles away. The film's sense of humor is buried under the very real threat that Ron faces at the hands and whims of his captors. A delicate power struggle begins to play out as both the women, and Ron size one another up, and the truth of what led to this reality comes into focus.

Both scary and funny moments play out on screen pushing the characters to a strange and shocking conclusion.
